Keep Canada Fishing is the national voice of Canada’s anglers, and we lead the effort to preserve your right to sustainably fish on our lakes, oceans, rivers and streams.

Keep Canada Fishing is dedicated to promoting the importance and benefits of recreational fishing to Canadians and the economy.

In coastal and inland regions, limiting or permanently banning angler access to public waters and fisheries is being promoted as a new way to ‘protect’ fish populations and habitat – often where no problems even exist. This new approach ignores proven science based fisheries management methods that maintain healthy fish populations, make conservation a priority and allow for sustainable fishing to continue.

The Canadian Sportfishing Industry Association launched Keep Canada Fishing to unite the nation’s 8 million anglers. By informing anglers of current and potential issues and threats affecting recreational fishing and access to public waters, our goal is to motivate anglers to take action on matters of importance to the future of fishing and conservation.

We’re also your voice on Parliament Hill. For example, we worked closely with the Ontario Federation of Anglers & Hunters to inform MPs from all parties about the Trojan Horse agenda contained in the recently-defeated Bill C-246, thereby protecting YOUR right to fish ethically in our national waters. As a not-for-profit organization, we rely on funding from our partners and the invaluable support of our followers to continue this fight.

Keep Canada Fishing reminds us that recreational fishing is a valued Canadian outdoor heritage activity and we each have a role to play to protect it for future generations.
