The Kids and Cops Fishing Days program began over 20 years ago. Celebrity angler Bob Izumi and the Fishing Forever Foundation teamed up with the Police Association of Ontario to support events which introduced children to fishing and the great outdoors.

In 2017, the Canadian National Sportfishing Foundation (CNSF) assumed responsibility of the program. Today the CNSF works with event organizers and enforcement officers to hold grassroots fishing events in Ontario, Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia. Over half a million children have participated in Kids and Cops events over the years.

Kids and Cops events…

• teach children about the natural environment.
• bring families and enforcement officers together for a positive, low-or-no-cost experience.
• offer a way for families to have fun without electronics or social media.
• help children find new ways of respecting the world and the people around them.
• provide an opportunity for Canadians to connect with a heritage activity.
• help local organizations and service clubs to build stronger communities.
