In 2017, the Canadian National Sportfishing Foundation, the same organization behind Keep Canada Fishing and National Fishing Week, assumed responsibility of administering the Kids, Cops and Canadian Tire Fishing Days program.
2019 Kids, Cops and Canadian Tire fishing events began in late January and concluded in late September. The majority of the summer events took
place during Canada’s National Fishing Week, June 29 to July 7.
There were several new derbies in 2019. We were pleased to include events in Cambridge, Lanark and Peterborough. In total, 65 events occurred with the support of Kids, Cops and Canadian Tire, introducing over 10,000
children to the joy of recreational fishing.
Keep Canada Fishing is the national voice of Canada’s anglers, and we lead the effort to preserve your right to sustainably fish on our lakes, oceans, rivers and streams.
